THE ROLE

Stetson Global is seeking qualified candidates for an exciting opportunity as a Fiber Technician supporting global mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for experienced technicians who enjoy hands-on technical work, fiber optic systems, troubleshooting, and supporting complex network environments.

This position supports the installation, testing, maintenance, and optimization of fiber optic infrastructure worldwide. Candidates can be based anywhere in the United States near a major airport and will travel extensively to domestic and international project locations. All travel expenses are paid.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Fiber installation: Install, terminate, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling and network infrastructure

  • System testing: Perform fiber testing, certification, OTDR testing, power meter testing, and signal verification

  • Technical troubleshooting: Identify and resolve fiber, connectivity, and network performance issues

  • Infrastructure support: Support data center, telecom, and mission-critical network installations and upgrades

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate cable records, test results, diagrams, reports, and technical documentation

  • Equipment operation: Use fiber optic tools, fusion splicers, testers, and related equipment to complete project requirements

  • Project support: Assist with deployments, expansions, upgrades, and commissioning activities

  • Team coordination: Work with engineers, vendors, contractors, and operations teams to ensure successful project completion

  • Safety & compliance: Follow industry standards, safety procedures, and quality requirements

  • Global support: Travel extensively to support fiber infrastructure projects worldwide

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 2+ years of fiber optic, telecommunications, network infrastructure, or structured cabling experience

  • Experience installing, terminating, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems

  • Knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber, connectors, cabling standards, and fiber testing procedures

  • Experience using OTDRs, fusion splicers, power meters, and fiber testing equipment

  • Ability to read drawings, cable layouts, network diagrams, and technical documentation

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail

  • Experience supporting data centers, telecom environments, or mission-critical facilities preferred

  • Fiber certifications such as FOA CFOT, BICSI, or similar credentials preferred

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with project teams, vendors, and customers

  • International project experience and foreign language skills are a plus

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including international assignments

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of fiber optic, telecom, network, or structured cabling experience

  • Hands-on experience with fiber installation, testing, and troubleshooting

  • Ability to use fiber tools and testing equipment

  • Strong technical and communication skills

  • Ability to travel extensively

  • Valid ability to work in the United States
