RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEER | Phoenix, AZ
THE ROLE
Stetson Global is partnering with a leading global renewable energy company to hire multiple Renewable Energy Engineers for opportunities throughout the United States and select international locations. This position is based in New York City and requires approximately 20% travel.
The Renewable Energy Engineer serves as a key technical lead supporting the design, engineering, and execution of renewable energy projects including solar, battery energy storage, and related infrastructure systems. This role partners closely with construction management and project teams to ensure engineering standards, system specifications, and project designs are successfully implemented from concept through execution. This is a high-visibility opportunity with significant growth potential within a rapidly expanding industry.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Engineering standards development: Develop and maintain engineering and control system standards for renewable energy systems including solar, battery storage, and related technologies
Solar system design: Support standards and design development for solar systems including panel types, trackers, inverters, and controls
Battery storage systems: Develop standards and specifications for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including battery technologies, containers, warehouse modifications, controls, and inverter systems
Major systems integration: Support engineering standards and specifications for transformers, switchyards, controls, fire protection systems, air handling systems, and related balance-of-plant infrastructure
Design coordination: Work closely with construction management and site support teams to ensure engineering standards and equipment specifications are properly incorporated into project designs and contractor execution plans
Repository management: Create and maintain a centralized repository for project designs, renewable fleet standards, and engineering documentation
Continuous improvement: Establish review and update schedules for renewable engineering standards while incorporating lessons learned and operational feedback from previous projects
Hazard analysis & quality review: Conduct pre-construction hazard analyses to ensure project designs meet technical, safety, operational, and quality requirements
Cost & project impact analysis: Recognize cost impacts related to engineering or design changes and communicate those impacts to project management and procurement teams
Site & project support: Travel to project sites to support engineering reviews, construction coordination, commissioning activities, and design evaluations
Efficiency initiatives: Identify opportunities to streamline engineering processes, improve workflows, and reduce waste across projects and operations
