RELIABILITY ENGINEER - POWER DISTRIBUTION - Extensive Travel

Stetson Global is seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our client's Power Distribution team. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of the firm's power distribution systems, which are essential to powering the company's energy products. The company is looking for a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background and a passion for creating reliable and efficient systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement reliability strategies and plans for power distribution systems.

  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing to identify and mitigate potential system failures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address reliability issues and ensure continuous improvement.

  • Perform root cause analysis of failures and develop corrective actions.

  • Monitor and track system performance and reliability metrics.

  • Create and maintain documentation related to reliability processes and procedures.

  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for power distribution reliability.

  • Identify and implement new technologies and methods to improve system reliability.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to other teams within the company.

  • Communicate potential risks and reliability issues to management and stakeholders.

  • Lead reliability testing and evaluation of new products and systems.

  • Identify and manage potential risks related to power distribution systems.

  • Train and mentor junior engineers on reliability best practices and techniques.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure reliability standards are met.

  • Continuously monitor and assess the reliability of existing power distribution systems and make recommendations for improvements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in battery systems / high voltage laboratory testing environment (including relevant internship or academic lab work experience)

  • Experience with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT).

  • Understanding of Highly Accelerated testing methods and governing equations for different types of acceleration models

  • Experience with developing reliability guidelines and inventing novel ways of reliability testing

  • Working knowledge of reliability statistics

  • Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning and EDX

  • Self-driven and focused individual with a proven ability to manage parallel tasks effectively, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances
