DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN - Charlotte, NC

Stetson Global is seeking qualified candidates for an exciting new role as a Data Center Technician. In this 30-50% travelling role (You can be based ANYWHERE in the U.S. that is close to a major airport), you'll be a salaried, full-time employee of our client, a global firm with projects and assets worldwide.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, with current experience working within data center projects.

  • Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).

  • Experience working in a travel-heavy role is strongly preferred, as is experience working at international locations. Foreign language experience (Spanish, Arabic, Filipino / Tagalog, Hindu / Urdu, French or Portuguese) is a BIG plus!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Stetson Global is seeking experienced Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to hire on full-time with our client, a global firm with assets and projects worldwide. These Data Center Technician positions will support the construction and commissioning of data centers. This position requires 100% travel with all expenses paid and exciting work guaranteed.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering, with specific experience in data center or other mission-critical projects. This role involves overseeing the electrical/mechanical systems from design through to implementation, ensuring they meet industry standards and project requirements.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Commissioning Planning: Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for data center projects.

  • System Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing of electrical, mechanical, and IT systems to ensure they meet design specifications and operational requirements.

  • Documentation: Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including test results, deficiencies, and corrective actions.

  • Coordination: Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all systems are installed and functioning according to industry standards and best practices.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Training: Provide training and support to operations staff on newly commissioned systems.

Lastly, candidates need to have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams (Planning Teams, facilities, vendors) and provide clear, concise technical guidance to various stakeholders.
